Liturgical Colors and what they mean

COLOR	MEANING
PURPLE Penance Preparation	Used during Advent and Lent
RED Sacrifice	Used during Passion Sunday, Good Friday, Pentecost and the feast of the Apostles and martyrs
WHITE/GOLD Joy and Purity	Used during Easter and Christmas seasons and feasts of the Blessed Mother, angels and spirits who weren’t martyred
ROSE/PINK Anticipation	Usually used on third Sunday of Advent and the fourth Sunday of Lent
