Mission 2030 Prayer Intention January 2018

Let us pray for this new year to give us the gift of a listening heart to respond to God’s calling to each one of us. Help us all to discern and respond to our vocation in life with open and generous hearts.

2018 is a Special Year for Vocations

Everyone has his/her own vocation in life. We are called to live our own vocation whether to priesthood, religious or consecrated life, single life or marriage life. God has a special purpose for every person, a vocation or a calling. Let's reflect about our own vocation. How am I responding to God’s call to carry His mission? How might God be calling me to the service of others?

Pope Francis addressed that “every Christian ought to grow in the ability to “read within” his or her life, and to understand where and to what he or she is being called to by God, in order to carry on His mission.”

Let us pray for the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we may response to God’s calling in our daily lives.
We pray for young people in our church that God may give them the gift of understanding to discern their service in the Church, the priesthood, religious, or consecrated life; and for the gift of courage to follow God’s call.

Prayer for Vocations

Gracious God, You have called me to life and gifted me in many ways. Through Baptism You have sent me to continue the mission of Jesus by sharing my love with others. Strengthen me to respond to Your call each day. Help me to become all You desire of me. Inspire me to make a difference in others' lives. Lead me to choose the way of life. You have planned for me. Open the hearts of all to listen to Your call. Fill all with Your Holy Spirit that we may have listening hearts and the courage to respond to You.

Enkindle in my heart and the hearts of others the desire to make the world a better place by serving as Lay Minister, Sister, Priest, Brother or Deacon. Amen.
“Each of us can discover his or her own vocation only through spiritual discernment. This is “a process by which a person makes fundamental choices, in dialogue with the Lord and listening to the voice of the Spirit, starting with the choice of one’s state in life”

LIVING COMMUNITY (AP#3)

In line with “Living Community” (3rdPillar), the International Mass is held once a month during 12 noon Mass. It is represented by one ethnic group/community wearing their traditional clothes and doing the second reading in their own language. They sing one of their songs for the Recessional.

On December 17, the Myanmar group led the 12 noon mass. The second reading was read in Myanmar. Young people from the Myanmar group brought up the gifts of bread and wine and a special handmade fabric as gift during the offertory. They sang Mary’s song at the recessional in the Myanmar language to honor the 100th anniversary of Our Lady of Fatima this year.

We were blessed by the presence of Bishop Joseph Afrifa Agyekum from Ghana with Father Martin, SVD and Father Firmansyah, SJ to celebrate the liturgy. It was truly a special atmosphere on Gaudate Sunday celebration to reflect more fully that Advent was almost over and we were invited to rejoice that the birth of Our Savior was near. Thank you so much for the meaningful and beautiful Eucharistic celebration.

Upcoming Schedule for International Mass:
January 21st – Indonesian Community
